Our guide to sleigh the holidays while on your period

Happy holidays! The end of the year is right around the corner and we can’t believe it is almost 2025. While the holidays can be filled of joy, they can also become a little overwhelming. And if you’re adding a period into the mix they can be draining. We’ve got some tips and tricks to manage this stress while still Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, if that’s what you’re into🎄

Come Prepared!

If you are planning on being out and about all day don’t forget to pack a small bag. There is nothing more frustrating than being at a family members house and realizing you don’t have the things you need. Sometimes overpacking is the way to go!

A look inside my purse when its that time of the month:

Don’t forget to come prepared

  • Pain Reliever: I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again—Midol is a lifesaver! It’s designed for menstrual cramps and includes a small amount of caffeine to help if you’re feeling sluggish. If Midol isn’t your go-to, any over-the-counter pain relief will do. Keep some in your bag in case period symptoms start to weigh you down.

  • A Quick Snack: Holiday meal schedules can be all over the place, so having a snack is a game-changer. A granola bar is simple, portable, and perfect for avoiding hanger. Bonus points if it includes chocolate for an extra mood boost!

  • Extra Period Care Products: Always have extras on hand, no matter your preference. If you’re a pad person and your cousin only has tampons, you’ll be glad you brought your own stash. It’s better to have too many than not enough!

  • Liquid IV: As we mentioned in last weeks newsletter, hydration is key. When you’re bouncing from place to place, recapping how school or work is going, its sometimes hard to remember to drink water. Liquid IV is good to replenish your hydration levels and still allows you something fun to drink while you celebrate.

Wear something comfy👚

I am the first person who gets excited to dress cute for the holidays. But sometimes cute isn’t always practical. Luckily there are plenty of fun outfits you can wear that are still period approved!

Sweater Sets❄️

Comfy, cozy, and looks put together. These are a must for any day of the week, but especially great for family get togethers that are more laid back.

Christmas Sweaters with Leggings🎄

Another great option for casual get togethers when you still want to look festive. Holiday-themed sweaters don’t have to be “ugly” and can help you look in the spirit even if you’re feeling crummy.

Loose Dresses or Long Skirts🎀

For formal events, opt for a loose-fitting babydoll dress, sweater dress, or a flowy maxi skirt. These styles are perfect for staying elegant while leaving plenty of room for comfort (and holiday treats 😉).

At the end of the day, wear whatever makes you the most comfortable and makes you feel the best! Sometimes pjs and slippers is the best way to spend the day :)

Take breaks when needed!

The holidays come with so much excitement and anticipation, but they can also be exhausting—especially if your period is just around the corner. If you’re feeling a bit defeated, know you’re not alone! Here are a few simple ways to recharge and get through the day with ease:

  • Taking a quick power nap💤

  • Watching your favorite holiday movie🔔

  • Going for a walk around the block🚶‍♀️

  • Journal about what you have planned for the day to help you prep mentally✍️

The holidays are all about joy, but they can be overwhelming too. Give yourself permission to pause and take care of YOU. With these tips, you’ll sleigh the day and step into 2025 feeling refreshed and ready. We hope you have an amazing time celebrating with loved ones!

xx,
